Most bicycle manufacturers usually claim that top-end race bikes are the fastest in the lot, without disclosing test protocols. To cut the marketing noise, we took 11 superbikes to the wind tunnel to see which were actually the fastest.
This complements other wind tunnel tests that have independently found it to be the fastest helmet and fastest wheel, as well as lab tests to find the fastest tires.
In our bike tests we found the factor Ostro VAM to be the fastest in the entire full sweep of the yaw angle (the angle to hit the wind), but in the dead straight line, the Cervélo S5 is the clear winner, which has quite astounding £3,300 off the asking price of the exact one we tested. If you want a "free" speed, it's about a deal as good as you're likely to find right now.
Figures show that the S5 will save more than 40 watts at 23km/h on a more basic road bike, or 40 watts at 250km time trial for 1m41 seconds.

I should warn you of this, saying it's the fastest of the eleven bikes we've tested. We took a lot of cycling world tour paddocks that could reach out to the tunnels, so it's kana the absolute pinnacle of our sport
This is not even the finest model, it's just as designed with SRAM Red rather than SRAM Force. Models equipped with red will be lighter, but not necessarily more aero in the grand scheme of things, but will be quite expensive.
