I am not a runner. I have never been. But I just started running once a week in an effort to give my body a bit of variation; it does not cycle all the time and eventually has some harmful effects that never really do anything else at all. Once a week, I do 5k, or even 10k if I really push the boat out, but I don't care about the start line of the park run, and I'm so far from signing up for a marathon that you wouldn't believe it. It is a necessity, not a hobby.
However, as a cyclist, I am used to endless data after my exercise. My bike computer tells me my power, my left/right leg split, my cadence, my heart rate, live segment time, current and average speed. It also predicts my VO2max. If I want, I can measure my core body temperature, my sweat, or even my coefficient of drag.
But running is nothing for me at the moment. Strava tells me my split in my ear every half kilogram, but that's it. This discrepancy in data, thanks to the Forerunner55 sitting in my Amazon basket, got a Cyber Monday Garmin deal and my finger is floating above the "Buy Now" button. To be honest, I would have clicked already if I had not had to buy a new phone that broke me a month ago.

You're like me and dabbled in running a mobile phone I checked the historical price but it's now cheaper than it was ever in both the UK and the US. It doesn't have the bells and whistles of more flashy smartwatches, but it has all the basics you need for a side hobby.
