A bottle of steel water makes everything taste horrible, this Black Friday deal helped me take the plunge and try Titanium*

Fortunately, for the roadside fans on the receiving end of the flying Bidon, Propeloton benevolently use a few steel water bottles. And on the board that I'm saying by recommending the good people of cycling Weekly that you switch from steel to plastic.. Why stop there ' what about titanium?

Fortunately, the Black Friday deal at Camelbak no longer requires you to pay £150 (plus shipping) for a pair of Camelbak Podium Titanium bottles. A similar deal is being offered by REI for people in the U.S. who want to pay big bucks for a bottle of water as well this Black Friday. Now I have to pay £150 - a bargain, right'right!?

I had my reservations about switching to titanium bottles in the past, but it's stupid when you think I've made the switch elsewhere in life. I traded in each of my heavy steel bikes for a custom rugged Fiadh, and have replaced my sunglasses for a set of4400POC Elicit Ti Chita all affordable upgrades I'm sure you can agree.

The beauty of steel bottles is certainly the reassuring weight of stuff when you crank them into your bottle cage (mine is titanium). But given that the addition of 700g weight from steel actually helps with your processing by lowering your center of gravity, why replace it with earth titanium

Well, the reason I'm spending an entire hundred and fifty pounds of my hard-earned cycling journalist's salary on two titanium water bottles is to taste. Descent

The more you use titanium cups and bottles in your day-to-day life, the more you will notice how much a steel thing tastes. Water is not something you like to drink anyway, so anything you can do to avoid tasting like a coin in a bite is good. In the long run, titanium is better, so it's probably better for the environment as well.

•Ok, this is satirical, I actually don't think you should fork out 1 ton of money on a titanium bottle. Spending £75/ち75 on a single bottle is, in our collective opinion, wild.

The aforementioned weekly cycling advice to switch to steel is fine, but actually the plastic bottles in the cupboard are also fine. They don't weigh much and it's always good to reduce plastic usage, but if you keep using what you have, you can avoid unnecessarily sending plastic bottles to landfill. Oh, and don't pretend to be a WorldTour pro, yeet each bidon to the hedge every time it's empty and you'll be magnificent.
