EF Education Easy Post announced the signing of Alex Beaudin, a 23-year-old French rider who has raced for Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale for the past two seasons.
Beaudin, who began his professional career with the Tudor Pro Cycling team in 2022, ran afoul of the UCI after testing positive for the painkiller Tramadol after stage 17 of the 2023 Giro d'Italia.
The UCI belatedly disqualified Bodin last July, erasing his mostly minor results.
Bodin's AG2R team reinstated him after an “in-death inspection by the team's ethics committee” because he had not raced since his disqualification.
At the time, this positive was not considered an anti-doping rule violation, but WADA subsequently added the drug to its list of banned substances in competition.
Bodin then had a breakthrough season in 2024, scoring 963 points, the most of any rider without a confirmed contract at the end of the season.
He finished the season third overall in the Tour of the West, overall and stage winner in the Tour du Limousin, and second in the Coppa Bernocchi and GP La Marseillaise.
“It's really exciting to be part of such an international team,” Bodin said in a press release from EF Education Easy Post.
“This is something I've always wanted to do and I think now is the right time. It's really important to get out of my comfort zone and get to know new people, new cultures, new everything. That's what I love about life. That's why I wanted to join EF Education-EasyPost. I'm still young and really, really excited.”
There are still 63 WorldTour players who have not finalized their 2025 teams, led by Fernando Gaviria (Movistar), who earned 715 points in 2024. He is followed by Madis Michels (Intermarque Wanty) with 711 points.
