Ashley Moolman-Pasio will postpone retirement for at least two more seasons after signing a contract with AG Insurance Soudal through the end of 2026. The recently crowned African continental road race champion said she will focus on performing at her best in the next two Tour de France femmes.
“It means a lot to me to extend my contract with AG Insurance Sudar. It is truly an honor and I am so grateful to be able to continue to represent my favorite team. I feel like I've been welcomed back into the family and the sense of belonging is special,” said Moolman-Pasio.
Moolman-Pasio had originally announced that she would retire after the 2022 season, but she postponed that plan and agreed to run for the team, then called AG Insurance-NXTG, to step up to the World Tour level in 2023.
She served as a mentor to younger riders, winning stages at Setomana Valenciana and Durango Emacmen Sarria, finishing in the top 10 at the Ardennes Classics, third overall at the Vuelta a Burgos, and second overall at the Tour Femminine International, Tour de France Femmes, and 6th overall in the Tour de France Femmes.
In 2024, his season was cut short due to an illness that forced him to miss La Vuelta Femenina and injuries, including a fractured T10 vertebra suffered in a high-speed crash on the first stage of the Volta a Catalunya Femenina.
“This season has been plagued by illness and injury, but the thought of staying with the team has been my motivation during my recovery,” said Mourman-Pasio.
“My desire to stay with the team actually started at training camp last December, and seeing how much progress the team has made this year with the support of AG Sompo and other partners has further increased my desire to continue contributing to the team's success! “

As one of the strongest climbers in the peloton, Mourman-Pasio has won many major successes in one-day and stage races.
AG Insurance Soudal has built a multi-level program that includes under-19, under-23, and elite teams, and Moolman-Pasio is responsible for mentoring many development riders who step up to the top level of the sport.
“With this contract extension, I will continue to provide mentorship and leadership, inspiring and supporting my teammates as we grow together on and off the bike. Over the next two years, my goal is not only to achieve great results and grow personally, but also to help foster a positive team culture, reach new milestones, and make a meaningful impact on our community,” said Moolman-Pasio. [More specifically, of course, reaching the Tour de France Femme is one of my biggest goals for the next two seasons. Using my experience to guide and nurture the team's young talent is a real motivation for me to continue my career. I can't wait to help the team grow and support the next generation of players.”
