You've almost certainly heard of the opportunity to compete online with Zwift Racing. But you've probably been threatened by the quality of the field it attracts – after all, some former amateur Zwifters are now racing at WorldTour level.

Racing at Zwift is a great way to train and now Zwift has introduced a completely new ranking system. Called the Zwift Racing Score, it ensures that you are matched with riders of comparable levels, but still improves your performance and race results

This is how it works.

There are hundreds of races where you can participate in Zwift at any time of day or night. You can browse upcoming races, courses and distances when they are scheduled in both the Zwift calendar and the Zwift Companion phone app. You can participate in several races as an individual rider or join the team of Zwift.

Initially, when using Zwift, your race score is based on your power number.

As your fitness increases and you begin to win the race standings, your Zwift race score changes to reflect your results. The sum of your Zwift race score points will change depending on your race performance and there will only be extra points for podium finishing

athletes are graded from 0 to 1,000, so there is plenty of room for improvement. You can enter a race in the upper category of your current level to help you move up more quickly, but the lower category

The Zwift Racing Score is a great addition to Zwift that helps make racing more challenging than ever, no matter your level or ambition, and is designed to keep track of your personal progress and make every race even more competitive.
