Top Australian riders Sarah Roy and Alex Manley have moved teams for 2025. The former will be swapped from Cofidis to EF-Autry Cannondale, while the latter will replace her home team, Liv Aroura Jayko, for a new challenge with AG Insurance Soudal.
Versatile veteran Roy, 38, has signed a one-season deal with an American team to bolster the Classics squad and bring a wealth of experience to the largely under-25 roster. She is a former Australian national road race champion and has two WorldTour wins in the 2017 and 2018 women's tour.
“I like one-day races, stage races, everything. So early in the season I can focus on the classics. But it takes a lot of mental and physical energy to do that, which I enjoy, but it's also refreshing to switch to stage races where I can give 100% for my teammates,” Roy said.
“Every year I'm getting stronger. There is still so much I want to accomplish. Now is the time to give back and share my experience.”
After completing his entire professional career with Liv Alura-Jeico, Manley joined Belgium's AG Insurance Soudal on a two-year contract and is focused on a successful spring and Tour de France Femme.
Although he missed out on a win in 2024, he has shown the ability to win at the World Tour level with stage wins at the Santos Tour Down Under last year and the Tour of Scandinavia in 2022. He also finished third in April's De Brabantse Pijl behind Elisa Longo Borghini (Lidl-Trek) and Demi Vollering (SD Worx-Protime).
“I have only ever run with the team Greenedge. But now I'm looking for a new challenge and an environment where I can grow,” Manley said in a press release.
“I consider myself a versatile rider and want to support the team in as many ways as possible. Having experienced different roles, I think I can bring value throughout the season. Personally, I want to focus on a strong spring and to be successful in the Tour de France, especially on the stages.”
Manley's Rib Arla Jayco has extended contracts with Commonwealth champion Georgia Baker, Amber Pate, and Caroline Andersson through 2026 and Anna Trevisi through 2025. With these four confirmed, the 2025 roster is nearing completion, with 14 riders confirmed.
“I'm really happy to extend my contract with the team. For the past three years I've felt like riding here is where I belong,” Baker said.
“I've been a part of the team's amazing success and I've been fortunate enough to be given the opportunity myself. Next year I want to step it up a notch and target the Cobblestone Classic.”
