Colonel Monica Trinca Completes First Elite Season and Joins Liv Aroura Jayko on World Tour in 2025

Up-and-coming Italian talent Monica Trinca Coronel will step up to the Women's World Tour in 2025 after just one season of racing at the elite level, signing a two-year contract with Liv Alura-Jacco.

25-year-old Trinca Coronel has been with Italian Continental team BePink-Bongioanni for a short time, with three top-15 stage finishes in the Giro d'Italia women, third overall in the Tour de L'Ardèche, and seventh in last weekend's Giro d'Alemiglia, She has shown great potential.

Trinca Coronel, a latecomer to the pro cycling scene, is making rapid progress. Having not raced since her junior days, she impressed team manager Walter Zini with her power data testing and signed with BePink after leaving her job as an optometrist in Livigno to pursue a career in cycling.

“Liv Alura Jayco is the perfect place for me to grow because I think it's the perfect place for me. I feel a lot of trust from the team and can't wait to continue dreaming with them,” she said in a press release.

“I've only been a part of the peloton since last January, so it's still hard to know what type of athlete I am. [In the Giro, she was 13th in the stage to Brockhaus, and in the Vuelta she was 14th in the uphill finish of the Haca. But as a racer, she hopes to continue to use her mountain biking skills.

“I certainly like long climbs, and I'm also good at technical downhills, probably because I did MTB as a kid. I'm very resilient, so I seem to be in good shape for stage races.”

“I like technical races like Strade Bianche. My dream is to one day compete in the Tour de France Femme. Next year I want to improve my race tactics to achieve the best results and be more competitive in time trials.”

Trinca Coronel is the third Liv Arla-Jacco signing announced for the 2025 season, along with Josie Talbot and Amber van der Hulst.

“We are always looking for riders with new potential, untapped talent, and we believe we have found it in Monica. Monica has shown everyone that she has something special to offer at the highest level of racing this season, even in her first full road season,” said team general manager Brent Copeland.

“I am confident that our women's team in 2025 will be well balanced and that Monica will fit in well and continue to improve at a rapid pace.
