Talita de Jong is returning to the Women's World Tour, signing a two-year deal to race with U.S.-registered team Human Powered Health in 2025 and 2026. Tarita de Jong, a former cyclocross world champion, will move from Continental team Lotto Dos Tony Ladies after the 2024 season.
“This is a new adventure for me. I am looking forward to being part of this program. There is a positive vibe on the team. I am very happy and I think I can take further steps in the coming years,” de Jong said.
This year, de Jong won two stages and the overall at the Tour de France, was 10th at the Tour de l'Ardèche, 7th overall at the Ituriá Women's Tour, 5th at the Bretagne Ladies Tour, 3rd at the Baloise Ladies Tour, and 2nd at the GP Oettingen in one-day races, 5th in Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and 8th in Gent-Wevelgem.
Team general manager Ro de Jonckler said he is excited to have de Jong on the team for the next two seasons.
“She is an exceptional all-around talent and her performance at this year's Tour de France was particularly impressive.
“Her experience and competitive spirit will add depth to our team. We are excited to support her growth and success as we continue to build a strong future together.”
De Jong spent five seasons with the former Rabobank team from 2012-2016 and competed on the World Tour with Rib Racing for nearly two full seasons (June 2022 and June 2023). She hopes to bring her one-day and stage racing strengths to Human Powered Health and hopes the team will help her prepare for Target Race in the 2025 season.
“I have been able to race a lot this season and improve my skills. Next season I have a strong team, so we can help each other and use as much energy as possible to finish together,” said de Jong, who will also focus on balancing competition, training, and life outside of racing.
“Those who have followed me over the years have seen the path I have taken with injuries and mental fatigue. This year I was healthy and positive in body and mind. And I saw the heights I could reach. I am in complete agreement with the “pillars”. Everything has to be in balance for it to work. In our sport, in this team environment, we can all work together for this.”
