Henrietta Christie Signs New Contract with EF-Autry Cannondale, Leaves Human Powered Health

New Zealand native Henrietta Christie will leave the Human Powered Health team at the end of this season and sign a new contract with EF-Autrey Cannondale starting in 2025. Team general manager Esra Trump said Christie will strengthen the climbing team in major races.

“Henrietta is a young and talented climber. She is not afraid of a challenge. Living on the other side of the world didn't stop her from finding out what she could do on the bike,” Tromp said. [She moved to Europe as a teenager to discover her talent, learn racing strategy, and pursue her dreams. Our team is very happy to welcome Henrietta to strengthen our climbing team. She is a great teammate on and off the bike and we are always grateful.”

Christy, 22, signed her first professional contract with BePink in 2021 and moved to the Human Powered Health team from 2022 to the end of 2024.

During her tenure with the WorldTour team, Christie has posted strong overall results, including seventh at the Tour Down Under, sixth at the Vuelta Ciclista Andalucía, sixth at the Cadel Evans Road Race, and third at the Gran Premio Ciudad de Eibar. She has also won the Tour Down Under and Tour Cicleste Feminin International de L'Ardèche Young Athlete of the Year awards.

“I love the feeling of competing, but what motivates me is the desire to do well,” Christie said.

“Likewise, I want my team and teammates to do well. I love working for others and I love taking chances. I love the feeling at the end of the day that I've done all I can do. That satisfaction motivates me."

She plans to race a full season with compatriot Kim Katzow, competing in the Tour Down Under and aiming for top performance in the spring one-day race campaign.

“Kim Katzow and I will be competing in the New Zealand National Championships.

“I don't know my program yet, but I want to race well in the Tour Down Under and the spring classics, especially the Ardennes. I love the Ardennes. I love the craziness of it, where so many things can happen. I really enjoy that kind of racing and the punchy climbs.”
