British cycling apparel brand Rapha and popular skate and streetwear brand Palace have teamed up to produce a limited edition cycling kit to celebrate Rapha's 20th anniversary.
The two companies have collaborated twice before, both of which have been extremely popular with cyclists and fans around the world.
The first was a replacement kit for the EF Education World Tour team in 2020 to avoid a clash between the pink jersey and the Giro d'Italia's pink race leader jersey, the Maria Rosa.
The UCI fined the team for not registering the kit in time, but the radical design became a popular item on eBay, with bids far exceeding the list price.
Later, the women's and men's EF Education team kits were swapped, this time to celebrate the first Tour de France in 2022.
The Rapha x Palace collection has always been distinctive, and this latest kit is no different, incorporating some of the classic looks of 1980s and 1990s cycling, but with a radical twist.
Prospective buyers can view the new collection online and register to vote on new collaborations.
Items in the collection include:
The collection is designed to equip at least the upper body for almost any riding condition.
Rapha clearly anticipates high demand for this new collaboration and is planning priority access for Rapha Cycle Club members, as well as general access through voting.
The third Rapha x Palace kit will be available to view online on Friday, October 4 at 11:00 UK, 12:00 CEST, 11:00 EDT and 08:00 PDT. It can be viewed in-store at Rapha stores in London and New York starting at the same time, and at the Los Angeles store starting at 11:00 PDT.
Online and in-store viewing in Korea and Japan will be available until 11:00 PDT on Saturday, October 5, while viewing in China will have to wait until 11:00 PDT on Saturday, October 5.
Online sales will then begin on Tuesday, October 8 for Rapha Cycling Club members. Voting for non-members will begin on Wednesday, October 9 at rapha.cc. Rapha will also sell limited quantities at its London clubhouse.
Rapha's website details how to access the collection for Rapha Cycling Club members and how to apply to vote for non-members.
