The commissaires of the Vuelta a España have given Primoš Roglic a 20-second point deduction. This was for drafting behind the Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe team car on the final climb to Cuis Negres on stage 15.
Roglic, who finished fifth on this stage, was 43 seconds behind Vuelta a España GC leader Ben O'Connor (Decathlon-AG2R). He remains in second place overall after the time penalty, but heading into the second and final rest day, the gap has widened to 1:03.
Roglic stopped to change bikes with just over 20 km to go in the valley before the final climb to the finish began. The Slovenian switched to a single-chainring setup to tackle the steep upper slopes of Kuitu Negru, where the gradient reaches 24%.
The race jury found that Roglic and his teammates Daniel Martinez and Roger Adrià had profited improperly from the team car.
