Ineos Grenadiers has signed under-23 world champion Axel Laurens for 2025 and 2026 in an effort to rebuild and rejuvenate its roster.
The 23-year-old from Brittany won the 2023 under-23 world title in Glasgow with a daring solo ride with two laps to go after taking part in an early race attack, followed by stage wins at the Tour of Norway in May and the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya in March, In July, he completed his first Tour de France.
Laurens raced for B&B Hotels-KTM in 2022, but the team disbanded and he joined the Alpecin-Desseuninck development team in 2023 and stepped up to the WorldTour team this year. He is considered one of the most talented French riders of his generation.
Laurens will likely play a key role on Ineos Grenadier's Classics team. With Honatan Narvaez moving to UAE Team Emirates, Luke Rowe retiring, and Ethan Hayter set to move to Sourdal Quickstep, Bob Jungels, Victor Langelotti, Samuel Watson, and 18-year-old neo-pro Peter Oxenberg have already been confirmed as members of the 2025 Ineos Grenadier.
