Kristen Faulkner and Matteo Jorgenson will lead the U.S. team for the UCI Road World Championships.

USA Cycling has announced the riders who will compete for the Rainbow Bands at this month's UCI Road World Championships in Zurich.

The World Championships will begin on September 22 with the elite men's and women's individual time trials. Faulkner will not compete in the time trial and will only compete in the elite women's road race on September 28.

Defending champion and Olympic bronze medalist Chloe Dygert will compete in the time trial along with former champions Amber Neben, Ruth Edwards, and Emily Ehrlich. [Brandon McNulty and Magnus Sheffield will compete in the men's individual time trial.

In the under 23 and junior categories, the US team has several contenders. In particular, former pro Dede Barry and Ashlyn Barry, son of Michael Barry, will lead the junior men, while AJ August and Artem Schmidt will lead the under 23 men's time trial.

The elite men's and women's road races round out the race week in Zurich. In addition to Faulkner, Dygert, Edwards, and Ehrlich, Lauren Stevens and Heidi Franz will compete. [...] [...] [...]
