The Italian news service ANSA reported that 21-year-old Simone Loganti died of an irregular heartbeat, probably due to a genetic defect.
The same day, the TDT-Unibet team posted an emotional post on social media recalling the signing of Loganti to his first professional contract.
Pescara prosecutor Luca Schiaretta ordered an autopsy to determine the cause of Loganti's death. Christian Dovidio, a pathologist at the University of Chieti, determined that ventricular fibrillation, probably due to genetic factors, caused the fatal arrhythmia.
According to the report, Roganti experienced chest pain and vomiting late Friday night, August 30, and paramedics were unable to revive him.
Loganti's funeral was held on Wednesday in Piazza di Marzio in Sportore, attended by members of his new team and his last team, MG K Vis Colors for Peace.
Unibet-TDT recalled that they picked up Roganti at Schiphol Airport last week and welcomed him to their service course.
