Great Britain has yet to announce its national team for the UCI Road World Championships in Zurich, but many riders are hoping to wear their national team kit later this month.
The World Championships will begin with an elite individual time trial on Sunday, September 22, followed by road races the following weekend.
The 273.9 km long road race route will be the most uphill distance climbed since Imola in 2020.
Israel Premier Tech's Stevie Williams was interviewed by Cycling News at the Tour of Britain and claimed to be one of the most successful riders of the season to make the team.
Williams, who won back-to-back stages 2 and 3, said: “It's not confirmed yet, but hopefully I'll be selected for the World Championships so I can ride in the final in Zurich.
The current leader of the Tour of Britain admitted that he is in a purple patch, citing his good form through 2023 and his participation in this season's Grand Tour.
