Paul Magnier Suffers Concussion in Crash at Tour of Britain

Neo Pro rider Paul Manier crashed on stage 6 of the Tour of Britain, and the Sudar-Quick Step team has confirmed that he suffered a concussion.

“Paul underwent a CT scan and was found to have a serious concussion and will spend the night in the hospital. At the same time, the 20-year-old suffered serious abrasions on his elbows and knees.

Manier, who was the center of attention at this year's Tour of Britain, dominated the group sprint, winning three of the five stages and looking for a sprint win on the final stage. Teammates Remco Evenpoel and Julien Alaphilippe provided the firepower to position him in the first five stages.

However, the French rider missed an important split in the aggressive 158.4km sixth stage. Manier, who was part of a large chase group with most of his teammates, crashed with about 35 km to go. Tom Pidcock (Ineos Grenadiers) also crashed in the same accident and abandoned the race.
