Young Italian racer Simone Roganti dies of sudden illness.

Italian cyclist Simone Loganti, 21, collapsed suddenly Friday night and died at his home in Sportole, Abruzzo, the Italian news service ANSA reported today.

Loganti went to bed, but got up and went to his parents before collapsing, saying he did not feel well. Paramedics were unable to revive Roganti, who belonged to K Vis Colors for Peace.

According to the report, the Pescara Prosecutor's Office ordered an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Roganti recently finished ninth in the national-level Trofeo SC Corsanico and competed in the Giro della Valle d'Aosta in July.
