Ethan Hayter leaves Ineos for Soudal Quickstep

The 2024-2025 pro cycling transfer season is heating up with major moves announced by several WorldTour teams. After Julian Alaphilippe's move to Tudor Pro Cycling, his current team, Sourdal-Quick Step, announced the addition of Ethan Hayter from Ineos Grenadiers.

Hayter, a member of the Olympic silver medal-winning British Team Pursuit quartet, has signed a two-year contract with Patrick Lefebvre's team after five years with Ineos.

“I'm really pleased to be joining one of the best teams in the peloton next year, Soudal Quickstep. 'It's an exciting move and I'm grateful for the opportunity. This new challenge will motivate me for the upcoming season. I'm already looking forward to meeting everyone there and getting things started.”

Hayter is 25 years old and has won the Tour de Pollogne in 2022 and the Tour of Norway in 2021. A versatile rider, the current British champion has won stages in Ituria-Basque, Tour of Britain, and Volta ao Algarve.

“Ethan is a multi-talented rider, accustomed to winning and has caught our attention with the many qualities he has displayed on the World Tour since his youth,” said Patrick Lefebvre, CEO of Soudal-Quick Step.

“He will soon be 26 years old and is capable of getting even better, and we are confident of a successful partnership along with his willingness to work hard and grow in this environment.

Hayter joins the team along with Max Schachmann (Red Bull - Bora-Hansgrohe).
