Australia has announced its team for the 2024 UCI Road World Championships in Zurich in September. Grace Brown will make her final attempt to win the rainbow jersey in addition to her Olympic gold medal.
Michael Matthews will also be back in the green and gold jersey, along with Ben O'Connor, who competed in the Paris Olympics, Australian champion Ruby Roseman-Gannon, and possibly Luke Plapp in the time trial. But that will be on the condition that they have recovered sufficiently from their crash in the time trial at the Olympic Games, where they underwent abdominal surgery.
In the women's time trial, in addition to Brown, who is about to retire, will be Brody Chapman and Oceania champion Isabelle Kerns. Chapman, along with Brown and Roseman-Gannon, also competes in the road race, while Giro d'Italia Brockhaus stage winner Neve Bradbury, Sarah Gigante, and the experienced Amanda Spratt, who has won silver and bronze medals in the world championship road race will also join the six-member team.
