A Tour de France stage is the ultimate goal" - Simon Kerr leaves EF Education Easy Post for Cofidis

Simon Kerr has signed a three-year contract with Cofidis and will ride for the company starting in 2025. The English rider, who has spent the past four seasons with EF Education Easy Post, will move to Cofidis in 2025.

Carr was born in Hereford but grew up near Carcassonne and emerged in the French amateur system, working with AVC Aix en Provence before turning pro with Nippo Delco.

A strong climber, Carr placed third in last season's Mont Ventoux-Denivelle Challenge and later won a stage of the Route d'Occitanie. At the end of last season, he won the Tour de Langkawi, and he did the same in 2024, winning the Trofeo Calvià with ease. He then won a stage at the Tour de l'Alps for the second year in a row.

"The project presented by Cofidis was really attractive. The project presented by Cofidis was really fascinating."

"I feel that the team's mentality of always looking for performance was very similar to my own, and my goals matched those of the team.

The 25-year-old has started three times in the Giro d'Italia and lined out in the Vuelta a España, but has yet to compete in the Tour de France.

"I grew up near Carcassonne, so it's my dream to compete in the Tour de France and try to win a stage. I'm good at mountain races and breakaways. I also like time trials, so maybe I can make it to the top of the overall rankings."

He has already signed contracts with Dylan Tuns, Damien Touze, Sylvain Monique, and Valentin Ferron.

Guillaume Martin, a Cofidis signee from 2020, will move to Groupama-FDJ, while Alex Gingle will run for Visma-Lease a Bike next season.

Director Cédric Vasseur called Carr "another great newcomer for the Cofidis team" and praised the Englishman's development under Jean-Michel Bourgoin's management during his time at AVC Aix-en-Provence.

"He has already shown great potential and we want to support his dream of shining in the Tour de France," Vasseur said. 'Simon joins the 2025 team with a new look and a new way of racing. He will fully demonstrate his talent, boldness, and aggressive approach to racing and will let his Cofidis colors shine."
