French GC rider Juliette Lavos is moving from DSM-Filmenig Post NL to FDJ-Suez after eight years with the Dutch team.
The 25-year-old Frenchwoman has been confirmed as FDJ's second new recruit for 2025 and will join the French team next season along with 18-year-old super talent Celia Gery. Lovous has signed a contract through 2027 and will race her last race for DSM at the Tour de France Femme on Monday, August 12.
Labusse is one of the most consistent climbers in women's cycling and backs it up with strong time trials. She has finished in the top five overall in the Tour de France, Giro d'Italia women, and Vuelta Femenina the past three seasons and will bring the French national champion jersey to FDJ-Suez for the second time in June 2024.
"I am very happy and proud to join the team in 2025, FDJ-Suez is a team that is constantly progressing and will provide us with the best environment to achieve our best performance," Labous said.
"I am looking forward to using my eight years of professional experience to make the team shine. I look forward to starting this new adventure that will open a new chapter in my career."
[10With her addition, FDJ-Suez will now be joined by two of the highest ranked French riders in the sport: the talented climber Evita Mujic, who is one of the few riders to have beaten Demi Volering in an uphill finish in recent years.
Team manager Stephane Delcourt sees the move as a big part of his and the team's vision for the future.
"It is with great pride and pleasure that we welcome Juliette to the FDJ-Suez family. A French champion and a top-five finisher in the last two Tour de France, Juliette is an amazing athlete and undeniably one of the best climbers in the pro peloton," said Delcourt.
"We are also honored that Juliette has put her faith in our project and vision. Her arrival is another step toward realizing our sporting ambitions."
[20Along with Labbousse, the French team has been heavily rumored as a possible destination for defending Tour de France Femmes champion Vollaring, but there has been no movement in that direction since the transfer market opened on August 1. 19]
They have confirmed that such a deal for Vollaring would also coincide with the pursuit of a larger project they have been building since their inception in 2006, but no official announcement has yet been made regarding the Dutchwoman's future.
