One of the more unusual events in the track racing program for the Paris Olympics is the keirin, in which riders pace behind their bikes before sprinting to the finish line, starting on August 7 and climaxing on August 11 for the 2024 Olympics. The Keirin live stream can be watched in the following ways.

Keirin originated in Japan and was first included in the Olympics in 2000 as a sprint event. Riders start out on "darneys" (more recently, electric-powered bikes), which wind up riders at speed over the course of three laps and then pit riders against each other for three more laps.

Keirin favors the strongest sprinters, and the best individual sprint riders often double up. However, because of the chaotic nature of the sport, keirin has a strong lottery-like element and remains a popular gamble in Japan. Dutch star Harry Lebreyson, who was a bronze medalist in Tokyo, will be the most feared rider in the men's competition in Paris.

The Keirin competition opened with the women's division, which was ultimately won by Else Andrews (New Zealand).

The men's keirin was held on Saturday, August 10, with the first round, and all riders advanced. The quarterfinals were at 11:29, the semifinals at 12:29, and the final at 13:23 (all local time).

NBC owns the broadcast rights to the Olympics in the United States. The Olympics will be shown on several of the network's television channels, as well as on the network's Peacock streaming service.

All rounds of men's and women's keirin are available on Peacock, and a 7-day free trial is available for those who wish to try before they buy. Peacock Premium is available starting at $7.99 per month. Peacock Premium Plus, which is ad-free, is $13.99 per month.

The women's final is only available digitally on Peacock, but the men's final on August 11 will be televised live on NBC 4 New York.

NBC 4 New York is available with a cable plan, but don't worry if you don't have cable; Sling is a smart TV service that allows you to watch cable channels on your TV, laptop, or tablet without having to subscribe to an annual cable TV package in the US. NBC 4 New York is available to New Yorkers on Sling with the Sling Blue package for $40 per month ($20 for the first month).

In Australia, cycling fans can watch the Olympics for free on Channel 9 and its 9Now streaming service.

As is the case elsewhere, the majority of the competition is expected to be included in live television coverage, but with guaranteed coverage of the Keirin race, fans can access 9Now on their favorite smart device.

Residents in Canada can watch the Olympics on several broadcasters, including the free-to-air CBC, subscription service TSN, and Sportsnet.

It is not clear if CBC will air the Keirin as part of its daily television broadcast. The finals will be streamed online on CBC Gem. Access to the ad-free premium library is $5.99 per month, but the ad-supported version is free.

TSN and Sportsnet do not have dedicated streams for each sport, so it is not certain if Keirin will be cut as part of their programming.

TSN's subscription service costs $19.99 per month or $199.90 per year. Sportsnet SN Now subscriptions, on the other hand, are $14.99 per month or $179.99 per year.

In the UK, cycling fans can watch the Olympics for free on the BBC through BBC One, BBC Two, and BBC iPlayer.

However, the BBC only has the rights to broadcast two streams at a time, so while track cycling will be heavily supported by the national broadcaster, there is no guarantee that all rounds of keirin will be televised.

Therefore, they will need to be seen on Discovery+, which provides the most comprehensive coverage in the UK.

A special Olympic promotion allows you to subscribe to the "standard" Discovery+ package for the low price of £3.99 per month. This package includes a year-round cycling stream as well as other live sports such as snooker, tennis, and motorsports.

If you are traveling abroad and try to access your usual live streaming service to watch the games, your access may be limited to certain areas.
