How to Watch the 2024 Paris Olympics Cycling Madison Live Stream

The Madison is one of the most eye-catching track events at the Paris Olympics, with teammates racing back and forth hand-in-hand with each other. With the women's race taking place on August 9 and the men's on August 10, here's how to watch a live stream of the Olympic 2024 Madison.

The Madison is a classic track cycling event in which teams of two race together, but only one athlete per team is actively involved in the race at any given time. When swapping, the two riders join hands together and the outgoing rider propels the incoming rider as strongly as possible with a wide swing of the arms, then move slowly across the top of the track until it is time to swap places.

This may be a bit confusing to the untrained eye, but it is one of the most hypnotizing events to watch. The race is points-based, with sprints scheduled every 10 laps.

The women's Madison took place on August 9, with the Italian pair of Chiara Consonni and Vittoria Guazzini winning gold over Great Britain and the Netherlands.

The Men's Madison will take place on Saturday, August 10, kicking off at 17:59 local time (CET). Ethan Hayter and Ollie Wood of Great Britain are the clear favorites to win, but the French pair of Benjamin Thomas and Thomas Buda will be cheered inside the velodrome.

This guide explains how to watch the Olympic Cycling Madison 2024 from anywhere in the world. For track events, see How to Watch Track at the Paris Olympics; for other events, see How to Watch Cycling at the Paris Olympics.

NBC owns the broadcast rights to the Olympics in the United States. The Olympics will be televised on several of the network's television channels, as well as on the network's streaming service, Peacock.

The men's and women's Madison races are set to be shown live on television and online via Peacock.

Peacock offers a free 7-day trial for those who wish to try before they buy. A full subscription to the service through Peacock Premium starts at $7.99 per month. Peacock Premium Plus, which is ad-free, is $13.99 per month.

On television, the women's Madison on August 9 will air on E. and the men's Madison on August 10 on CNBC.

Both channels are available with a cable plan, but don't worry if you don't have cable; Sling is a smart TV service that allows you to watch cable channels on your TV, laptop, or tablet without actually subscribing to an annual cable TV package in the US. E. is available with the Sling Blue package for $40/month ($20 for the first month); to watch CNBC, you also need the News Extra add-on, which normally costs $6/month, but the first month is free.

In Australia, cycling fans can watch the Olympics for free on Channel 9 and its 9Now streaming service.

Not all Madison races will be broadcast on television, but if they are reliably broadcast, fans can access 9Now on their favorite smart device.

If you live in Canada, you can watch the Olympics on several broadcasters, including the free-to-air CBC and subscription services TSN and Sportsnet.

It is not clear if CBC will televise Madison as part of its daily television broadcast. However, the race will be streamed online on CBC Gem. Access to the ad-free premium library is $5.99 per month, but the ad-supported version is free.

It is not certain if Madison will make the cut as part of their programming, as TSN and Sportsnet do not have dedicated streams for each sport.

TSN's subscription service will set you back $19.99 per month or $199.90 per year. Sportsnet SN Now subscriptions, on the other hand, cost $14. 99 per month or $179.99 per year.

In the UK, cycling fans can watch the Olympics for free on the BBC through BBC One, BBC Two, and BBC iPlayer.

However, the BBC only has the rights to broadcast two streams at a time, so while track cycling will be heavily supported by the national broadcaster, there is no guarantee that the full hours of both Madison races will be broadcast.

Therefore, they will need to be seen on Discovery+, the most comprehensive coverage in the UK.

A special Olympic campaign allows you to subscribe to the "standard" Discovery+ package for £3.99 per month. This package includes a year-round cycling stream as well as other live sports such as snooker, tennis, and motorsports.

If you are traveling abroad and try to access your usual live streaming service to watch the games, you may find that access is regionally restricted.

In this case, a VPN service comes in handy, making your computer appear as if you are at home, allowing you to log into your streaming account and catch all of the racing action.

Our colleagues at TechRadar thoroughly tested several VPN services, and NordVPN struck gold:
