Bob Jungels has signed a two-year contract with the team and will join the Ineos Grenadiers in 2025. Jungels, a native of Luxembourg, joins from Red Bull-Bohler-Hansgrohe, where he spent the past two seasons.
"It's a team I've always admired and this opportunity came at the perfect time," Jungels said on Friday.
"I truly believe that in this environment I can take my performance to the next level and at the same time share my experience with the group."
Now 31, Jungels has enjoyed considerable success during his long tenure with Quick Step, winning Liège-Bastogne-Liège in 2018 and Cune-Brussel-Cune the following year. He also showed potential as a Grand Tour rider, finishing in the top 10 overall twice in the Giro d'Italia.
Jungels moved from Quick-Step to AG2R in 2021, but his first season with the team was interrupted by surgery for iliac artery endometrial fibrosis; in 2022 he returned to form, winning a stage and finishing 11th overall at the Tour de France.
With Bora-Hansgrohe, Jungels avoided the classics and took a supporting role in the Grand Tours. Ineos performance director Scott Drewer indicated that Jungels would provide similar support and guidance to his new team next season.
"Bob's background is very impressive, and the talent and experience he brings to the team will be invaluable," Drower said.
"Our group of riders has many talented young riders whose experience we respect, and Bob will be an important part of that mentoring culture."
Jungels is the second new rider announced by Ineos for 2025, following the news that Danish talent Peter Oxenberg Hansen will join as a neo-pro in January. 18-year-old Jungels is currently with Continental's ColoQuick
He is currently a member of Continental's Coloquik.
