Track cycling will take place in an indoor velodrome. The velodrome is an oval 250m track made of wood with straight sides and steep banking at each end. There are numerous race formats, but they can be divided into two main categories: sprint and endurance. Sprint events are characterized by impossibly muscular riders who display sharp strength in a short period of time, while endurance events are run by riders of lean physique over a longer period of time.

With six events for both men and women, 12 gold medals will be up for grabs in Paris. The sprint events include individual sprint, team sprint, and keirin, while the endurance events include team pursuit, Madison, and omnium.

Great Britain has topped all Olympic medal counts since Beijing 2008 and has established itself as the leading track nation of the 21st century. Great Britain used to lead the technical competition, but other countries have closed the gap. And now that many of Britain's golden generation have retired, the new contenders will have to fight to secure dominance once again. Italy, Denmark, the Netherlands, Australia, the Netherlands, and New Zealand, to name but a few, have very competitive track cycling structures in place.

The men's team pursuit is likely to be one of the hottest events at the Paris Olympics. Italy, led by defending champion Filippo Ganna, will face off against world champions Denmark and Great Britain, while 13-time sprint world champion Harry Rebriessen of the Netherlands, a beast, will be the favorite to win the men's sprint event and may cement his legendary status as the He may well cement his legendary status as the favorite to win the men's sprint event. Meanwhile, in the women's sprint, Emma Finucane (GBR) looks to peel off. Also, in the omnium, Olympic champion Jennifer Valente (USA) and road race world champion Lotte Kopecky (Belgium) will clash.

NBC owns the broadcast rights to the Olympics in the United States. The Olympics will be broadcast on several of the network's television channels, as well as on the network's streaming service, Peacock.

All track events from the preliminaries to the finals are available on Peacock, and a seven-day free trial is available for those who wish to try before they buy. Full subscription to the service through Peacock Premium starts at $7.99 per month. Peacock Premium Plus, which is ad-free, is $13.99 per month.

In addition, the finals of each event will be televised live on four channels: USA Network, E., CNBC, and NBC 4 New York.

These channels are available with a cable plan, but don't worry if you don't have cable; Sling is a smart TV service that allows you to watch cable channels on your TV, laptop, or tablet without having to subscribe to an annual cable TV package in the US. USA Network and E. are available on Sling with the Sling Blue package for $40/month ($20 for the first month); CNBC is available with Sling Blue's News Extra add-on for $6/month.

If you live in Canada, you can watch the Olympics on several broadcasters, including the free-to-air CBC, the subscription service TSN, and Sportsnet.

It is not yet clear which track cycling events will be included in CBC's live TV coverage, but as in the U.S., the finals will likely be televised; CBC Gem plans to broadcast all events extensively online. Access to the broadcaster's ad-free premium service costs $5.99 per month, but the ad-supported version is free.

Since TSN and Sportsnet do not have dedicated streams for each sport, it is not certain how much track cycling will be shown on their daily broadcasts, but it is likely that finals and races of interest to Canadians will be cut.

TSN's subscription service costs $19.99 per month or $199.90 per year. Sportsnet SN Now subscriptions, on the other hand, are $14.99 per month or $179.99 per year.

In the UK, cycling fans can watch the Olympics for free on the BBC through BBC One, BBC Two, and BBC iPlayer.

However, the BBC only has the rights to broadcast two streams at a time, so given the number of Brits participating and the number of medals, there is no guarantee that every round of every discipline will be televised, although track cycling will be heavily supported by the national broadcaster.

Therefore, it will need to be seen on Discovery+, the most comprehensive coverage in the UK.

A special Olympic campaign allows you to subscribe to the "standard" Discovery+ package for the low price of £3.99 per month. This package includes a year-round cycling stream as well as other live sports such as snooker, tennis, and motorsports.

In Australia, cycling fans can watch the Olympics for free on Channel 9 and its 9Now streaming service.

As is the case elsewhere, the majority of the competition is expected to be included on live television, but with coverage of all track events guaranteed, fans can access 9Now on their favorite smart device.
