Matteo Moschetti left the field on Tuesday with multiple injuries after being hit by a truck driver while driving.
The Italian sprinter from Q36.5 was taken by helicopter to Milan's Hospital Niguarda after the accident.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reported that Moschetti, who last competed in the Italian national championships in June, suffered several broken bones.
The paper reported overnight that an “initial assessment of his condition” found a broken collarbone, two broken neck vertebrae, facial cuts and nerve damage.
No further information on the incident or Moschetti's condition is available at this time, but La Gazzetta dello Sport reported that Moschetti had no memory of the collision. Moschetti's Q36.5 team has yet to release a statement.
