Giant Introduces Two Smarter, Faster Gravel "Revolt" Models

The Giant Revolt is one of the original gravel bikes and one of the most popular models in Giant's gravel series. The new Revolt, announced today, is the fourth generation of Giant's gravel bike family. According to Giant, the bike's aerodynamics and aesthetics have been improved with more integrated cables. In addition, the down tube now features internal frame storage for essentials.

The new bikes were designed with input from Giant's gravel pros. According to the attached press release, Brendan Johnston rode a pre-production version of this bike at Unbound.

The new frame continues to feature Giant's adjustable flip-tip rear dropout, which allows for 10mm longer chainstays and bike wheelbase. The clearance can also be increased to 53 mm or reduced to 42 mm.

According to Giant, the geometry changes provide more stability for tough riding in the long position and more agile handling for fast gravel and mixed road riding in the short position.

Giant also updated the handlebar, saddle, and wheel systems for the new model. The carbon seatpost and carbon or alloy handlebars continue to feature the D-Fuse profile, which is said to offer improved compliance over standard round profiles.

The Revolt is available in two of Giant's three tiers, Advanced Pro and Advanced; don't worry if you see the word "Advanced" a lot, it clearly describes the model's specifications.

There is no Advanced SL grade frameset as seen on Giant's latest road bikes TCR, Propel, and Defy.

The Revolt Advanced has an Advanced grade frame and fork with both top tube and fork leg mounts. The frame is compatible with either a 30.9mm dropper post or a standard round seatpost. Advanced models are equipped with alloy Contact SL XR D-Fuse handlebars with additional downtube and chainstay protection.

The Advanced Pro is the same advanced grade frameset, but paired with an Advanced SL fork with fork blade attachment points and a carbon D-fuse handlebar.

The overall Giant Revolt lineup consists of two models, the Revolt Advanced Pro, priced at £4,999 and £5,599 ($5,800 and $7,000; €5,599 and €6,499) respectively, the SRAM Rival AXS and Force AXS 2x groupset, with Giant CXR 1 carbon wheels and Kadex 40mm tires.

The Revolt Advanced is available in four more specifications, priced from £2,499 to £3,799 ($3,000 and $4,500, €2,499 to €4,499). They range from Shimano GRX 2x10-speed, Giant P-X2 alloy wheel versions to Shimano GRX 2x12-speed mechanical, Giant CRX 2 carbon wheel versions, and SRAM Apex XPLR mechanical 1x versions.

There is also a frameset-only option for the Revolt Advanced Pro, priced at £1,899 ($2,400, €2,599).

Availability of specs varies by region, with some price differences even within Europe.
