Wilier has released images of the bike that Mark Cavendish will ride in this year's Tour de France. The special edition Wilier Filante SLR bike will not have the standard Astana Cazacstan Team paint job. Instead, it brings a splash of color to the bike that Cavendish will be hoping to finish first at least once.
This year Cavendish is attempting an accomplishment that has never been achieved in the previous 110 races. It would be his record 35th stage win. Cavendish is currently tied for first place with Eddy Merckx, arguably the greatest name in the history of the sport, with 34 stage wins. When he lines up at the start in Florence on Saturday, Cavendish will surely have one thing on his mind: the Tour de France.

The Filante SLR is Willières' dedicated aero bike, while the newly launched Verticare SLR serves as the brand's dedicated lightweight climbing bike. As a man on a mission, the faster Philante SLR is Cavendish's natural choice. The Philante SLR is the perfect bike for me, but I wanted more.
." Everyone has their own preferences." So I like to add my own touches to a bike that has been an inseparable part of my professional life for 20 years.
Cavendish recalls that when he visited the Willières headquarters in March, he was struck by a picture.
With the finished product in hand, Cavendish said, "A few months later, I found myself handling this Philante SLR. They did a great job and gave me even more motivation for the next Tour de France."
All the colors that make up this striking design symbolize Cavendish's brilliant career moments and victories.
This time last year, Cavendish received a custom white, black, and gold bike that was supposed to be his final attempt at the Tour de France. This year's model seems to pull out all the stops. Like last year's model, Cavendish's personal brand name, CVNDSH, is also printed on each fork leg.
The splash of yellow congratulates him on his yellow jersey as overall leader of the Tour de France. Complementing this bold color palette are the blue, red, and black decorations that, along with the green and yellow, symbolize the colors of the UCI Rainbow Band, awarded to the world champion. The UCI Rainbow Band is a tribute to the 2011 Copenhagen World Road Race Championships victory, which was won by the world champions in Copenhagen.
But Cavendish is not the only rider to get this special edition frameset. Willières has made the CVNDSH edition available for purchase until December 31, 2024. Prices are currently unknown, but this is one way to remember the greatest sprinter of all time.
