SD Worx- Eyes of Pro Time "win as much as possible" with Wiebes and Kopecky on the British women's tour

SD Worx-Protime seeks to continue its dominance of the women's WorldTour with the aim of "winning as many victories as possible" on the upcoming Tour of Britain Women.

The Dutch team will take part in 4 stages led by World champion Lotte Kopeck and top sprinter Lorena Weave. It starts in Welshpool on Thursday and ends in Greater Manchester on Sunday.

As a team, they are already in 2024 with 31 wins and an overall win in half of the 18 WWT events to date this season. Their most recent 4 victories also took place at RideLondon Classique in England, with Wiebes winning all 3 stages and overall kopecky was on the lead-out duty.

"We go there with a strong team. Our goal is to get as many wins as possible," Sports manager Danny Stam said when SD Worx confirmed the lineup.

"It's a challenging course that suits us. But we have to see how much Lotte Copecky has recovered from Rider London. She rode an impressive race there, but also crashed hard and had a bit of a cold.

"For stage wins, we certainly see Lorena Wiebes as well. She has gone the extra mile again this season. She is simply invincible in the sprint.

SD Worx-Protime has been the top female team of the past few seasons, with Kopecky, Wiebes and GC star Demi Vollering all contributing the most to their almost complete dominance in 2023.

The 2024 season has missed big goals in the Ardennes Classic and Flanders tour, with Lidl-Trek, Canyon SRAM and FDJ-SUEZ all ruining the party. But Stam was still delighted with the tally of current victories, especially after Volarling wiped out the Spanish stage race on May 5.

"For now, there is little to write down. We had a strong spring. In the classic of the Ardennes, we performed less than we did in the previous year, but overall we are happy with the spring," Stam said.

"Then, as a team, we rode very impressively in the Spanish block. After a year of success in 2023, we did not expect to have such a high winning sum again at the beginning of this season."

Kopecky and Wiebes, on the Tour of Britain Women, have the potential to return to the calendar under the organisation of British Cycling and share leadership across the various parcours. For SD Worx-Protime, elena Cecchini, Chantal van den Broek-Blaak, Barbara Guarischi and Christine Majerus will support sprinters and world champions.
