After all 14 bikes were stolen in the Tour of Britain Women, Lifeplus Wahoo's continued participation in the race was questioned ahead of Stage 2.
The British continental team were forced to look for a solution to make a start at Wrexham, which was scheduled for 11:15 local time. But thanks to the generosity of the Peloton, with other teams offering spare bikes and mechanics offering time, they can get off to a start.
"We woke up this morning and found all 14 Ribble Endurance SLR bikes stolen from the mechanic's van," said a former Twitter x-team member. Read the statement from the system. "We are hoping to find a solution that will allow us to start in Wrexham today."
This first statement was posted at 8:10 a.m., but just two hours later they were on stage for a team presentation and ready to take part in Stage 2 with a bike concoction from peloton.
"Wrexham we are here. All of our gratitude and gratitude goes out to the many teams that provided and gave our spare team bikes and mechanics time to take our girls on the road," said Lifeplus Wahoo. "We would not be able to start without them!"
"Thankfully, our amazing community has come together and we were able to get started this morning with the help of several rival teams," co-team director and co-founder Bob Varney described the first incident as "an absolute shock to our overachieving team with an already stretched budget." After explaining that "hammer blow."
"But please help us keep track of them by sharing stories far and wide - thanks!""
In their dark green Ribble road bikes are not available, the team was drawn first in a mix of factors, Liv and Look bikes from Team VolkerWessels, Liv AlUla Jayco and Cofidis British saws
"Thanks to the generous support of the other teams at the Peloton, LifePlus has been able to offer a wide range of products. Wahoo will start the stage today in Wrexham," read a post from race on X on Twitter earlier.
Raif Plus Wahoo started Stage 2 and ranked Babet van der Wolf 22nd overall.
