Promising British rider Thomas Glog will only be back in the race at some point after the Tour de France, Wielerflits reports, with Visma-Lease A Bike rider continuing to train after an accident on 8 May last year. A few months after team leader Primo Logric made his grand tour debut at the 2023 Giro d'Italia to help him win a memorable victory, the 22・year・old londoner suffered a knee injury when he was hit by a car during summer training.
Since then, Glog has started on a long comeback path and is now fully trained, but it is reported that further delays are expected.
According to the Dutch website, the initial idea was going back to the Tour de Switzerland, but this plan has been shelved. This was due to the number of injured riders in the team leading to numerous schedule changes and the lack of other races beyond the tour in the Visma-Lease A Bike calendar. Among them in particular are ongoing questions surrounding the race program of Jonas Vingegaard and Wout van Aert.
According to Wielerflits, Glog is doing well and is returning to full training. The key issue is when Glog pin the number on his back again when he last raced in Clásica San Sebastián.
