Juan Ayuso leads the UAE team Emirates at the Criterium du Dauphine on the road to the Tour de France

After dominating the Giro d'Italia with Tadej Pogañar, UAE team Emirates confirmed that Juan Ayuso will aim for overall victory in the Criterion du Dauphiné starting on Sunday.

The 21・year・old will then join forces with Pogacal at the Tour de France to take on the role of support and understudy.

Also on the Dauphine's Uae team Emirates are 21-year-old Igor Arrieta and Kiwi Michael Vink (32), both making their debut in the race. Nils Polit, Pavel Shivakov, Marc Soler and Tim Wellens will also race in France as the last leg of the Tour de France. Ayuso won the Ituria Basque Country after the crash of Jonas Vingegor, Lemco Evenepoel and Primoš Logric, who finished 5th overall in the Tour de Romandi.

"Since Romandi, I took a little break and I just slowly built up again," Ayuso said when he headed to France. "We've trained really well as a group at altitude over the past few weeks and the atmosphere is good, so we're aiming to be up to the sharp end of the race. Dauphin will now be a good tester before the Tour de France.

Adam Yates is absent Jonas Vingegor (Visma・ to lease bikes) despite finishing in 2023 in the 8・day French stage race for Team Dauphine of the Uae team Emirates in 2nd place overall.

Pogagnard is currently resting before heading to altitude camp in the French Alps after the Giro d'Italia win and has joined many of his teammates to join the Dauphine after the race ended on the 9th.
