Bianchi has announced an update to its Infinito endurance bike, the second lower class in the company's endurance bike series.
The geometry is the same as the top model, the Infinito CV, but while that model features Bianchi's signature Countervail vibration damping technology, the new Infinito uses a standard carbon frame layup.
However, the new model goes even further than the top model Infinito CV with full internal cable routing. It features a 1.5" straight headset with upper and lower ACROSS/FSA.
Tire clearance is 32mm, the same as the racing Specialissima, which is a bit low compared to most current endurance bikes, which start at 35mm and offer as much as 40mm of tire clearance.
Bianchi will sell the new Infinito in three specifications:
Velomann Palladium wheels with a 33mm deep profile, 21mm internal width, and a wheelset weight of 1,460g. All bikes will be fitted with a Velomann Mitara saddle and and Ultegra-spec carbon rails.
If you want to upgrade the front end, you can install the same carbon integrated bars as the top-spec Bianchi Specialissima RC.
In addition to the inevitable celeste, Bianchi also offers the Infinito in a new deep purple color with a matte-finished back logo, as shown. It comes in seven sizes: 470, 500, 530, 550, 570, 590, and 610.
Bianchi appears to be moving away from countervailing, which incorporates a viscoelastic layer in the frame under license from its inventor. The counterbail was borrowed from aerospace applications and is claimed to reduce vibrations transmitted to the rider.
Previous Specialissima models had counterbail, but the latest Specialissima RC frames do not. Similarly, the Impulso frame, a gravel race bike, is built without counterbaille.
The top-spec Oltre RC aero bike is also without counterbail, but the Oltre Pro includes counterbail.
