Canada, Germany, and Great Britain Qualify for Full Cycling Track at Paris Olympics

Canada, Germany, and Great Britain have qualified the maximum number of athletes to compete in the track events at the 2024 Paris Olympics as a result of this weekend's final Nations Cup race at the Milton Velodrome in Ontario, Canada. [This ranking is based on points earned at the last two continental and world championships and the best two performances at the UCI Track Nations Cup in the 2023 and 2024 seasons.

Great Britain qualified as a team of up to 14 athletes by finishing 7th in men's team pursuit, 5th in men's team sprint, and 2nd in women's team pursuit and team sprint

Germany finished 9th and 7th in men's team pursuit and 6th and 1st in women's team pursuit and Germany finished 9th and 7th in the men's team pursuit, and 6th and 1st in the women's team pursuit and sprint, respectively.

Canada finished 8th in the Team Pursuit 2022-2024 standings, securing the maximum number of teams in the men's endurance race. The women's team finished 8th in the Sprint and 5th in the Team Pursuit, ahead of France.

There are six combined men's and women's medal events in the track events, with a maximum of seven athletes each for men and women (four each in the three endurance events (Team Pursuit, Omnium, Madison) and three in the three sprint events (Team Sprint, Sprint, Keirin)).

Countries may also enter one male and one female athlete from each of the other cycling disciplines. Michal Morkov has already been selected to represent Denmark and will support Mats Pedersen in the road race and compete in Madison.

Eligibility for the track events hinges on the team events, with the top 10 countries in the team pursuit and the top eight countries in the UCI Olympic rankings automatically qualifying for the team sprint.

A country that qualifies in the Team Sprint may enter two athletes in the sprint and keirin, using athletes who have already qualified in other track or cycling events. A country that has qualified in the Team Pursuit may enter one athlete in the Madison Team and one in the Omnium under the same conditions.

In the men's competition, Australia, Japan, Great Britain, Germany, and Canada qualified for both Team Pursuit and Team Sprint, while in the women's competition Germany, Great Britain, New Zealand, and Canada qualified for both.

Other countries qualified for the Olympics by finishing in the top seven in the UCI Olympic event rankings, but did not qualify for the team event.

The United States qualified for only one slot in the men's omnium, but qualified in all women's endurance events. Jennifer Valente, who won gold in the omnium at the Tokyo Olympics, finished the season ranked No. 1 in this event.

The country did not qualify for the women's individual sprint due to special regulations to ensure representation from all continents. Egypt is given that status as the highest ranked African country.

Under the same provision, Egypt qualified ahead of Switzerland in the women's omnium and Kazakhstan in the men's omnium, while South Africa beat Colombia for the final spot in the men's individual sprint.
