SD Walks Pro Time will be on the start line for this Sunday's Tour de Flanders along with defending champion Lotte Kopecky and last year's runner-up Demi Volering, but the Lidl-Trek lineup should not be underestimated.

The American team has two potential winners in Elisa Longo Borghini, who won this race in 2015, and Shirin van Unrooy, who is in good form.

"I feel really good ahead of Flanders tomorrow. Maybe 'super confident' is a bit of an exaggeration, but I'm really happy to be riding with such a strong team. We have proven in the races so far that we really are a team and together we can achieve great things. [This is something we unfortunately could not do last year and I hope many people understand what we went through last year. This is our potential."

Ridltrek has been active in all of the spring classics, while Elisa Balsamo has two one-day wins in the Trofeo Alfredo Binda and the Classic Bourges des Pannes. Meanwhile. Longo Borghini and Juan Anloy scored a 1-2 punch to run away and break into the top 10.

The Italian champion finished third in Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, second in Strade Bianche, and sixth in the breakaway sprint in Dwars Door Hlaanderen. Similarly, van Unrooy was fourth in Omloop, fifth in Strade, and second in Dwars door Hlaanderen.

"Finally, we are able to race to our full potential. Maybe it was the same last year, but we had a lot of injuries and illnesses that prevented us from showing our full potential," said Longo Borghini.

"So now we just have to show how strong we are, how strong we always are, and how dedicated we are to racing hard and doing our best in every race."

The Lidl-Trek team at the Tour de Flanders will also include 2016 winner Lizzie Deignan, Lauretta Hanson, Elisa Balsamo, and Lucinda Brand.
