Paris-Roubaix winner Allison Jackson (EF Education-TIBCO-SVB) and Giro d'Italia sensation Derek Gee (Israel-Premier Tech) will lead Team Canada at the 2023 UCI Road World Championships in Glasgow to lead Team Canada at the 2023 UCI Road World Championships in Glasgow. Holmgren made new history for Canada in 2023 when she became the first Canadian to win the world cyclocross championship. Her sister Ava competed in mountain bike cross country instead of road and won the cross silver medal at the world championships in Hoogerheide.
Paula Findlay, a two-time national champion in triathlon, has represented Canada in two Olympic Games. Olivia Baril (UAE Team ADQ) will compete in the time trial and road race, while Sarah Poidevin (EF Education-TIBCO-SVB) and Simone Boillard (San Michele-Mavic-Auber93) will compete in the elite women's road race. Van Damme has qualified for the under-23 class of the women's elite road race.
Gee, a four-time runner-up in this year's Giro, finished the Grand Tour with a "Super Fighting Spirit Award" thanks to numerous attacks. In Glasgow, he will compete in both road and time trial events, and will be joined in both events by newly crowned road champion Nicolas Zukofsky (Q36.5 Pro Cycling). Gee will also compete in the track Pursuit event as the men's alternate.
Three other elite athletes in the road race are Guillaume Boivin and Hugo Fouret of Israel Premier Tech, and Human Powered Health teammates Pierre-André Court, Charles-Etienne Chretien, and Benjamin Perry. will compete as.
