According to Cyclingnews, a so-called "Middle East Peace Race" will be held in Israel, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates in October 2024, pitting Grand Tour winners against the big names.

The ProTour level will take place October 18-22, with an elimination-style race in Tel Aviv, a criterium around the Bahraini capital, and a mountain race in Jebel Hafeet, UAE The three-day race will be held over a travel day, with 20 teams of five Riders and race caravans will travel to various countries in the Middle East.

After the race, a UCI gala awards ceremony will be held to mark the grand finale of the season. 2024 will be the first edition of the race, with only a men's race, and a women's race will be held in 2025.

Israeli billionaire and owner of Israel's Premier Tech Team, Silvan Adams, was involved in the creation of the Peace Race (unrelated to the long-running event of the same name in Central Europe), and the Bahrain Victorias Team and Tadei Pogachar's UAE Team Emirates team are expected to compete on their home roads.

Cyclingnews reports that a stage may also be held in Saudi Arabia, with Alula, sponsor of the Jayco-AlUla team, and Neom, a Saudi state-run smart city project, sponsoring the Jumbo-Visma team reportedly could take over.

The race would highlight the recent Abraham Peace Treaty and improved relations between Israel and major Arab states, but would probably also draw criticism for sportswashing.

The peace race will not be part of the 2024 UCI World Tour, which will end its season with the Tour of Guangxi in China in mid-October.

The Peace Race will extend its race season into October, which will clash with the Japan Cup, Chrono de Nations, and Gravel World Championships. However, it will be a high-profile end-of-season race, like the ATP Finals in professional tennis or the Race to Dubai in professional golf.
