Jayco, with Hagens Berman, to Support Axeon Team Led by Axel Merckx for Three Years

Hagens Berman Axeon will continue for another three years. Team owner Axel Merckx announced on Monday the extension of his contract with title sponsor Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro LLP and the addition of Jayco as a new co-title sponsor.

The deal begins with the U.S. men's continental team in 2024 and runs through 2026. The team name is expected to remain the same next season and will continue as Hagens Berman Axiom. Hagens Berman is in its seventh year and is the longest serving sponsor.

"No company is more committed to the future of cycling than Hagens Berman. Steve Berman has proven his commitment over the years and continues to demonstrate it with this sponsorship renewal. In a press release, Merckx said, "Additionally, we are very excited to welcome our new partner, Jayco, who has already historically proven his belief in cycling with his current and past sponsorships.

Launched by Merckx as the Trek LIVESTRONG U23 Team during the 2009 racing season, the program continues to develop young talent in cycling, with 45 riders having competed in the UCI World Tour to date. Among the graduates competing in this year's Tour de France are three stage winners, Jasper Philippsen (Alpecin-Desseuninck), who wears the green points jersey, and Nielson Powles (EF Education Easypost), who wears the mountains jersey.

Others in the field include Kevin Vermaquet (Team dsm-Filmenig), Will Barta (Movistar), Joao Almeida (UAE Team Emirates), Tao Geoghegan Hart (Ineos Grenadiers), Team Jayco Alura's Lawson Craddock ( USA) and Eddie Dunbar (Ireland), a pair of alumni who are currently at the highest level.

"We believe in what Axel and the program are doing for the future of the sport. We believe the future lies in youth development and we will continue to invest resources in this important program," said Steve Berman, founder of Hagens Berman and managing partner of the Seattle-based law firm Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro LLP

Jayco, owned by Australian businessman Jerry Ryan, is the title sponsor of the current WorldTour team, Team Jayco Alura. Ryan said the new partnership with the Axeon Cycling Team shows the importance the company attaches to being involved in the development of the next generation of cyclists.

"I am excited to share the news of our partnership with the Axeon Cycling Team. The team's philosophy, ethos, and operating methods align with our beliefs, and by working together, we can create a strong connection and pathway to the World Tour."

Jerry Ryan, owner and founder of Jayco, explained. [We are proud to support the growth of this wonderful and important team that Axel has built and developed over the years. The names of riders like Lawson Craddock and Eddie Dunbar, who have been produced by this team over the years, are a testament to the hard work and success the team has done to create the future of cycling."
