Michelin's New Gravel Tire, Power Adventure, is an All-Road All-Rounder

According to Michelin, the new Michelin Power Adventure tires are designed for riders who spend about 80% of their riding time on pavement, but want to ride off-road with confidence the remaining 20%.

As such, they are designed to fall between the best road bike tires rather than the best gravel bike tires. With increasingly larger tire clearances, many of the best road bikes should have room for the narrowest 32mm power adventure tires.

These new tires must prioritize low rolling resistance while still providing grip when you want to explore off-the-beaten paths.

Therefore, this tire falls between the Michelin Power road tire series and the Michelin Power gravel off-road tires, but according to Michelin, this tire can also be used for bikepacking, trekking, and commuting, making it an all-rounder like It's a thing of beauty.

The tires use a new rubber compound that Michelin calls Gum-X. It is said to provide excellent grip in both wet and dry conditions. The tread pattern includes small shoulder blocks for off-road grip and a slick center section for speed on the road; there is a bead-to-bead protective layer on top of a 3x100 TPI casing.

As is often the case with new tires, riders will have the option of tan "classic" sidewalls or black sidewalls so they can choose the tire that best matches their bike. The new Michelin Power Adventure tires are tubeless compatible and are only available in size 700c.

The tires come in sizes 30mm and 340g, 36mm and 380g, and 42mm and 440g, and are available in both tan and black sidewalls. They are also only available in a 48mm wide classic tan sidewall finish, weighing 510g.
