From High Altitude Camp to Tour de Suisse - SD Worx Prepares for Giro, Tour and World Championships

SD Worx's spring campaign has been a remarkable one, with 33 wins (including 18 in a row) through classic races and early-season stage races.

After a rest and high-altitude training camp in Bride-les-Bains, the team's riders are now on a new block that begins with the Tour de Suisse on June 17-20 and continues with the Giro d'Italia Donnay, Tour de France fam avec Zwift, and the Glasgow World Championships We are ready for success in the

"Looking at our results, I can only conclude that we are really ridiculously good. We had a strangely good spring. We didn't expect this kind of performance ourselves," said team manager Danny Stamm. We can't even pinpoint the exact reason for this success. We had a good preparation for the season in Spain. We had success right away and were able to maintain this trend within the team. This is how everyone is improving each other."

Team successes include Lotte Kopecky's victories at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, Tour de Flanders, and Thuringian Ladies Tour; Lorena Wiebes' win at Ronde van Drenthe; Marlen Reusser's win at won in Ghent-Wevelgem and won overall in Ituria Women's, and Demi Vollering won the Ardennes Classic three times in a row and won overall in the Vuelta a Burgos.

"Of course we are very proud of that. But we also know that this series stops somewhere. Every race starts from scratch again. This Tour de Suisse will start a new series this season. Most of the riders will be returning from high altitude training camps and rest periods. And again, we have to see how everyone is doing," Stamm said.

Stamm confirmed that Reusser and Voerling will lead the team in the Tour de Suisse and that the event will have special meaning for each rider.

For Reusser, it is a stage race in his home country, and the 25.7 km time trial on stage 2 is a great opportunity. Volering, who lives in Switzerland, also has special feelings about this stage race as he prepares for the Tour de France Fam.

"The time trial to Abtwil is definitely in [Reusser's] favor," Stamm said. 'If Marlen runs strong there, he'll be in a good class. But Demi Vollering is also at the start. She will return to competition after a three-week training camp in Bride-les-Bains. After the time trial, we will see how she handles her ambition for the overall class."

The SD Walks team also includes Niamh Fischer-Black, Blanca Vas, Marie Schreiber, and Elena Cecchini. Fischer-Black fell at La Vuelta Femenina and Iturria Women's, and will next aim for the Giro d'Italia.

"She is back on form now. She will soon be given a free role in the Donne of the Giro d'Italia and will run in a strong class," said Stam, who also outlined the riders' roles in the upcoming races.

"Blanca Vas made a strong impression in Spain. Blanca Vas made a strong impression in Spain, and after a difficult year in 2022, she is now seen as the best athlete in the peloton. Otherwise, she would have had stronger results herself.

"Marie Schreiber is a pleasant surprise. We have signed her primarily for cyclocross, but she seems to be very useful in road racing at the highest level as well. Elena Cecchini needs no introduction. She will be of great value to the team wherever she starts."
