Elisa Longo Borghini (Trek-Segafredo), the defending champion of the Paris-Roubaix Femme, crashed on the Pont Thibault à l'Enevran section with 39km to go.
Although the conditions were dry on race day, the route was not completely dry due to several days of rain. In the first few kilometers of the race, a breakaway group made a big breakaway and gained more than 5 minutes on the breakaway.
With the chasing pack closing in, Kopecký attacked at the Mont-en-Peverel section and split the group. A small group formed, pulling away from Longo Borghini, Pfeiffer Gheorghi (Team DSM), Elisa Chavey (Canyon-SRAM), Florche Maccaigi (Movistar), and Lucinda Brand (Trek-Segafredo).
A crash by Longo Borghini brought down most of the riders, including Sanne Canto (Phoenix-Alpecin). Only Romy Kasper (AG Insurance-Soudal Quickstep) escaped the wreck.
Kopecký had to scramble back to the chase group, joining them in the seventh sector, Sisoing a Bourgel, with 26 km to go.
Marianne Vos (Jumbo-Visma), second in 2022, suffered mechanical problems early in the race and joined the group with Kopecký when they regrouped.
