Kask introduces the new Utopia Y helmet.

Kask has launched a new version of its popular Utopia helmet, the Utopia Y. Utopia was released in 2018 in collaboration with Ineos Grenadiers, and the new Utopia Y picks up where the original model left off.Kask Protone helmet is also featured in our Best Road Bike Helmets guide.

According to Kask, the Utopia Y pushes the limits of aerodynamics and ventilation and has been redesigned. Both were important considerations in the original Utopia design, and according to Kask, these elements continue to be employed. This, he says, makes the Utopia Y an essential helmet for road racing and triathlons, where speed is key.

The Utopia Y also features what Kask calls Resistex carbon padding. This is a breathable material that moves moisture to the outer shell of the helmet. This is attached to the front of the helmet and helps create an optimal fit.

The Utopia Y also features the new OCTOFIT+ adjustment system. The new, larger rotating dial, coated with a special rubber, is said to improve grip and ergonomics. The new retention system is also said to wrap more widely around the nape of the neck.

It also features reflective graphics to aid visibility while cycling in traffic and a Kask logo on the side of the outer shell that replicates the helmets used by active professional athletes.

As standard for all Kask helmets, the Utopia Y conforms to the rotational impact WG11 test, an internal test that measures a helmet's performance against rotational impact.

The Utopia Y is available in a variety of colors, including gloss, matte white, and black, as well as Oxford blue, red, and gray.

Utopia Y weighs 260 grams in size M and is available worldwide for £245/$300/275 EUR/$410 AUD.
