A twist on the Tour of Flanders reconnaissance gallery: a Belgian newspaper labels the Serratigit riders "cyclotourists".

The day before the Tour of Flanders is set aside for riders to preview the course and get used to the cobblestone climbs. Inevitably, photographers looking for images to use in their pre-race coverage will be in close contact with the star riders.

This year, the annual reconnaissance gallery took a strange turn when the Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws misidentified Marta Lach of Ceratizit-WNT as a "cyclotourist" in the background of an image of Wout Van Art standing on the Koppenberg.

The gaffe was brought to the attention of the German team on social media, who responded with a generous invitation. The Serratigit-WNT post read, "We admit that mistakes happen, but they still happen all too often."

"@HLN_BE is welcome to come with us on Sunday. If not Sunday, @martusialach will take you bikepacking instead. Let us know which you prefer."

The Polish riders are Italian riders Alice Maria Arzufi and Arianna Fidanza, Luxembourg rider Nina Belton, German rider Leah Lynn Teitenberg, Dutch rider Along with Milene de Zoete, she is part of a six-person team from the Serratigit WNT that will compete in the Tour of Flanders Women's WorldTour race. Perhaps the Belgian's lack of presence on the UCI Continental women's team has contributed to the outlet's low profile.

Belgium's attention is certainly on Van Aert, with Serratigit-WNT scouting on Thursday and fellow Belgian race favorites, defending women's champions Lotte Kopecky (SD Walks) and Tadey Pogachar (UAE Team Emirates) previewed the route with their teammates on Friday.
