Enve has unveiled its new high-end gravel bike, the MOG, and before we do a quick read on the name MOG, let's first discuss the name.
Before delving into the details of the new bike, in Enve's words, "MOG is a noun, a verb, an acronym, a state of mind for those who push the limits of distance and rolling description: for the aspiring MOG, no road is too long, no course too tough."
In other words, MOG can be represented by whatever word you wish to assign to those three letters. I prefer "Master of Gravel."
MOG is designed as a platform that offers versatility, simplicity, and performance. The frame itself is based on a 700c-specific platform and aims to provide a balanced and confident ride for a wide range of gravel applications.
Enve strives to beat the carbon fiber hype, claiming to use the best possible carbon fiber in their frames. Enve Material Optimized Design means that the material, fiber weight, and fiber angle itself are selected and manipulated for the performance requirements of each zone, such as impact toughness, stiffness, and compliance.
MOG is sold chassis only, including frame, fork, headset, handlebar, stem, and seatpost. The stem, bars, and 27.2mm seatpost (dropper option also available) will be self-selected by the customer, ensuring the best fit for their requirements and fit.
MOG also features the Enve In-route system for a fully integrated front end. Brake hoses are routed between the fork's steerer tube and the 1.5-inch upper headset bearing. Enve has also designed an anti-rattle system for the cables, which allows the hoses and cables to be secured inside the downtube.
According to Enve, the weight of a size 56 cm MOG frame is 950 g + / - 2% without hardware.
MOG will be available in six frame sizes ranging from 49 cm to 60 cm and three unique fork rakes (57° to 53°). The popular 56cm size has a stack of 587mm, a reach of 397mm, and a head tube angle of 71.25 degrees.
Enve has created a best-fit calculator to help customers and bike fitters calculate which frame size, and by extension stem length, spacer stack, and seat post offset, will best meet their sizing needs. There are four Enve Inroute handlebars and two stem types to choose from.
MOG customers can then select an Enve wheelset and work with a local Enve Ride Center or retail partner to select drivetrain components and accessories for their build. By taking this step, Enve can move from offering only wheelsets and components to offering a more comprehensive frame and components to its customers.
The MOG is available in one color, sand, but using Enve's configurator, customers can specify and order Enve's custom decal kits. The kit includes decals for the head tube, down tube, seat tube, and stem, which customers can apply themselves.
MOG also features the Enve cargo bay system (modular in-frame storage system); the MOG frame has two neoprene cargo bags on the top and bottom of the down tube, similar to the storage compartments on the Trek Domane SLR 9 Like the Trek Domane SLR 9, they provide hidden storage; include Enve x K-Edge computer mount for the Enve stem; Enve G-Series dropper post handlebar levers; Enve bar tape in black, white, and gray; Enve x Selle Italia SLR Boost saddle.
There is also an Enve CIM (carbon injection molded) carbon bottle cage and an Enve X Scicon bike travel case to safely transport your Enve frame.
Enve offers a 5-year frame warranty and a 2-year paint warranty. There is also an Accidental Damage Protection scheme that covers the first five years of purchase.
