David Gaudet criticized and apologized to Grupama-FDJ teammate Arnaud Demare in a leaked online chat room conversation Wednesday night.

David Gault, a regular on the video streaming channel Twitch, exchanged text-based messages on the Discord platform last week, revealing tensions between him and DeMarre.

The conversation took place on the evening of January 20, but a screenshot leaked to social media Wednesday night, and Gault apologized Thursday morning.

He issued an initial apology on Twitter, which was attached to the evidentiary screenshot and garnered some attention, but quickly deleted it and posted a lone message.

"My statement should not have been broadcast in public. I apologized to the team and to Arnaud."

The French climber, who finished fourth in last year's Tour de France, casually discussed his tense relationship with FDJ lead sprinter Demare.

"I, you know, don't want him to come to the Tour," Gaudoux wrote in a chat room on January 20, adding: "I don't care if Netflix is good or bad."

Gaudou later referred to the "shooting" as DeMare's "deliberate attempt to undermine me," but DeMare is not competing in the 2022 Tour de France.

Gaudou then suggested that Demare once told him that he did not want to ride the lift "because of Gaudou."

Returning to the possibility of sharing a support rider with FDJ's 2023 Tour de France team, Gordou revealed that a rift had developed between the two.

Asked what the team's goals were, he replied: "Ha ha, if we knew them, that's one more piece of information for the final equation ...... The war is not over: ...... We are on a crusade: ...... The good thing is we don't talk and we rarely race together."[19

A short time later, Gaudu returned to the topic when a fellow Discord user jokingly, but accurately, suggested that we should be careful in case this creates "drama" on Twitter.

"Ugh, you know what I mean," Gaudu said. 'If he wants me to say it to his face, so be it. I am not afraid of him ...... He knows I don't want to tool him out.
