Former Ineos sports director Servais Knaven has been named sports and technical manager of the AG Insurance-Soudal-QuickStep women's team for 2023.
Knaven's wife, four-time Dutch cyclocross champion Natasha van Ouden, is already team manager, and his daughters Brit, Mir, and Senne Knaven are on the roster for next season.
Ashleigh Moolman Pasio is a key signing for the 2023 team, joining from SD Worx, while recently retired Jolien D'Hoor will be a directeur sportif.
The Dutch-registered team will be established as a development team in 2019, and AG Insurance became the title sponsor last year following the start of its collaboration with Quick Step director Patrick Lefevere.
In 2023, the women's team will share backers with the men's team led by Lefevere, with Soudal and QuickStep signed on as sub-sponsors.AG Insurance-Soudal-QuickStep recently announced that it will be entering next season's UCI Women's World Tour after missed out on a berth in next season's UCI Women's World Tour.
"All of the people involved who have their shoulders on the wheel of our women's team have been active in cycling for several years and know the ins and outs of the cycling world," Lefebvre said.
." If we want to build something together, that is obviously a very important factor."
Servais Naveen raced under Lefebvre for six seasons with Domo and Quick Step, winning Paris-Roubaix in 2001 by sweeping the podium. After his retirement, he raced for 12 years in team cars with Team Sky and Ineos, where he was team leader of the Cobbled Classics.
Gabriel Rasch and Brett Lancaster, both of Direction Sportif, like Knaven, left Ineos after a major team staff shakeup this winter. Ineos recently announced that Ian Stannard will join as a 2023 Direction Sportif, and Dutch coach Dajo Sanders will move from DSM.
