BikeExchange-Jayco Men's Team Gains Sprint Momentum for 2023.

The addition of Dylan Groenewegen to 2022 turned around the fortunes of Team Bike Exchange Jayco this season, as the Dutch sprinter helped the team to quickly increase its stagnant win total.

Groenewegen, who returned in 2021 after a nine-month suspension for triggering Fabio Jacobsen's crash at the 2020 Tour de Pollogne, has returned to his most powerful form this season with seven wins, including a stage win at the Tour de France. "Throughout the entire season," said General Manager Brent Copeland, "we saw the team step up and take on the sprint competition and see the lead-out train grow into one of the best in the world. It is critical that we continue this momentum, and we have put a lot of work and resources into the Sprint team.

"We have big ambitions for a sprint finish in 2023." The team had already started down the path of further strengthening its sprint lead-out during the season. Bike Exchange Jayco may be moving up-and-comer Caden Groves to Alpecin Deceuninck this season, but in August the team added Dutch rider Elmar Reinders. The team also signed 22-year-old Australian rider Blake Quick, who will join the team's team in August. [2018 Vuelta a España winner Simon Yates is the clear team leader in this field and the biggest contributor to the team's 2022 win total of 22.

"Winning stage races is a major goal of ours and we are excited to add a diverse and talented group of riders who can support our leaders in stage races next year, from the high mountains to the flat terrain during the Grand Tour," Copeland said.

Joining Australian Chris Harper, Irishman Eddie Dunbar, and Italian champion Filippo Zana in the climbing group are Austrian all-rounder Lukas Pestlberger and Italian Alessandro De Marchi, while the team is led by Austrian all-rounder Lukas Pestlberger, Czech Zdenek Štival joined to provide "a more well-rounded group to support overall leader Simon Yates in the challenge of the stage race," he said.
