Jumbo Bisma Adopts Oakley Sunglasses and Nimble Shoes in 2023

The Dutch website Wielerflits reports that the team will use Oakley sunglasses and Nimble shoes next season.

Last month, Cyclingnews revealed that Jumbo Visma will end its long-term relationship with Shimano and switch to SRAM components for its Cervelo bikes beginning with the 2023 season. Both the men's and women's teams will use SRAM, which means a major change in equipment for the new season and extra work for the team mechanics.

UAE Team Emirates will also switch its groupset from Campagnolo to Shimano in 2023 as part of a number of bike sponsorship and equipment changes in the 2023 World Tour peloton.

Jumbo Visma has used Ag sunglasses in recent years, and the Dutch brand also supplies the team's racewear and casual wear; in 2023, Tour de France winners Jonas Vinegegaard, Wout Van Aert, and Primoz Roglic are already join Mark Cavendish and Mathieu Van Der Pol, who are already using Oakley sunglasses.

The team was using Shimano shoes in 2022, but that deal appears to be over as they have moved to SRAM components. According to Wieler Fritz, Jumbo Visma has signed a contract with Nimble, a small but highly regarded Italian brand.

Nimble has sponsored many riders in recent years, including Vincenzo Nibali, Greg Van Avermaat, Thomas De Gendt, Joe Dombrowski, Luke Plapp, and Fred Wright. Their shoes are expensive because they are handmade in Italy, but many riders have overcome shoe and foot problems.

According to Wielerfritz, Jumbo-Visma is trying to increase its budget by acquiring new technical sponsors in order to win the Tour de France and the Classics overall.

Jumbo-Visma refused to confirm the change to Oakley and Nimble for 2023 to Cycling News, but will reveal the new equipment sponsors at an official team presentation in Amsterdam before the Christmas break.
