The 2nd Beking Monaco Criterium, to be held on Sunday, November 27, will feature some of the biggest names in the professional peloton, who are coming off vacation and getting ready for the 2023 season.
Many of the athletes live in Monaco and will include Tadei Pogachar, Urska Zigato, Peter Sagan, Primoš Roglic, Elia Viviani, and Matteo Trentin. Also participating will be Philippe Gilbert, Luke Rowe, Davide Formolo, Tim Wellens, Steven Kruiswijk, Alexandre Vlasov, Salvatore Puccio, Alessandro Covi, Lizzie Deignan, and Elena Cecchini.
The criterium will be held at the Monaco seaside circuit, which also hosts the Formula 1 Grand Prix each year. The race program will include a pro event and activities for children. Fifteen teams will participate in the pro and amateur events, each team consisting of a professional rider, an invited rider from the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation, and two amateur riders.
Trentin and his partner are part of the organizing team.
"With the contribution of the Monaco Cycling Federation we welcome families, children, friends and athletes. Our aim is to share with everyone our philosophy that cycling and bicycles are part of life in the city," said Trentin.
"We expect a lot of kids and we can give them the opportunity to ride safely. I want to thank the many colleagues in the Principality for their cooperation and presence. We are probably the best ambassadors to spread the right message about cycling."
Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Foundation of Princess Charlene of Monaco and Fight Aids, an association presided over by Princess Stephanie of Monaco, to support the project.
